Kaiser Health News reports that tax preparers say a delay in new Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax forms is causing confusion for some consumers. Some consumers may not receive form 1095 until shortly before the April 15 tax filing deadline because the IRS has pushed back the due date from Jan. 31 to March 31 for employers and others that provide insurance. The form reports whether employers, insurers, and government programs offered or provided health coverage considered affordable under the ACA. For many this will not be an issue, since most people had health insurance coverage the whole year, but for some it could add to the confusion of filing taxes.
